How to become a Yango rider in Nepaleven if you don’t own a bike
यांगो राइडर कसरी बन्ने? Registering with Yango is free. The motorcycle is not, and that is where most people in Kathmandu stop. This page explains what you actually need, and how an agency removes the part you cannot afford.
What you need to ride for Yango
Four things. Three of them you almost certainly already have.
A valid driving licence

Category A, for a motorcycle. This is the one thing nobody can arrange on your behalf. Every other item on this list, we can help with.
Citizenship certificate
नागरिकताको प्रमाणपत्र
Bring the original and one photocopy. It is used to verify who you are before a vehicle is handed over.
A smartphone

Android or iPhone. The Yango Pro app runs on it, and so does our own rider app for support and bonuses.
A motorcycle, or us

Riding independently means owning a bike and its bluebook. Riding with us does not: the agency provides the motorcycle.

Your Yango rider profile is created and activated. We do this with you at the desk, so an app rejection is caught in the room instead of a week later.
Vehicle and gear handover · बाइक र सामान
The motorcycle is assigned, insurance is put in place, and you leave with a raincoat, a phone mount and a power bank.
You start earning · कमाई सुरु
The same day you walk in, documents in hand. From here the agency's job changes from onboarding you to backing you: payout queries, account problems, repairs.
Registering alone vs. riding with an agency
Anyone can register on Yango without us. This is what the two routes actually differ on.

What decides how much you earn
We are not going to print a monthly figure on this page. Any agency that quotes you one before it knows how many hours you intend to ride is guessing, and you would be making a decision about your family on the back of that guess.
What actually moves the number is short: how many hours you ride, whether those hours fall in the busy parts of the day, how much of the valley you are willing to cover, and Yango’s own fare and commission rates, which the platform sets and can change.

Can I become a Yango rider in Nepal without owning a bike?
Yes. Registering on Yango normally assumes you already have a motorcycle and its bluebook. Ellite Sphere Mobility (Ellite Yango) is a rider management agency, which means the agency provides the motorcycle to licence holders who cannot afford one. You need a valid category A driving licence and a citizenship certificate; you do not need a vehicle, and you do not need capital.

How long does it take to start earning?
Seven days from the day you walk into the office with your licence, provided your documents are in order. Most of that week is document verification and platform registration rather than waiting.
What does it cost to join?
There is no fee to come in, have your documents checked or be registered. The commercial terms for the motorcycle are explained in the office before you commit to anything, in writing, in Nepali. Do not accept a verbal-only arrangement from any agency, including this one.
Do I need to speak English?
No. The office, the phone line and the rider app all work in Nepali. This website is bilingual for the same reason.
I already ride for Pathao, inDrive or another Yango agency. Can I switch?
Yes, and it is a common reason people come in. Bring your licence and tell the office what you are riding now. What changes is the backing: insurance, gear, and someone who answers when a payout goes missing.
What happens if the bike breaks down or I have an accident?
Call the office. Riders are covered by health and accident insurance arranged by the agency, and a mechanical problem with an agency motorcycle is the agency's problem to solve, not a day of your earnings lost to a workshop queue.
How much can I earn as a Yango rider?
It depends on the hours you ride, the times of day you ride, how much of the Kathmandu valley you cover, and Yango's own fare and commission rates, which the platform sets and can change. Any agency quoting you a guaranteed monthly figure before it knows your hours is guessing. The office will walk you through the current rates and what a realistic week looks like.
Is Ellite Yango the same as Yango?
No, and the difference matters. Yango is the ride-hailing platform. Ellite Sphere Mobility Pvt. Ltd., trading as Ellite Yango, is an independent Nepali rider management agency that recruits, equips and supports riders working on that platform. Your rider account is on Yango; your bike, insurance, gear and support come from the agency.
